In 2002, the Beckworth Group acquired Score-Tech Limited and incorporated the company into the group. This was seen as a natural evolvement of the Group, in expanding the range of sub-contract services that the group had to offer. This allowed the group not only to offer sub-contract plating solutions but also the associated process of precision CNC drilling, routing and Scoring. Over the years that Score-Tech has been a member of the group, their capabilities have been developed to offer their services to a wider range of companies outside the core printed circuit board industry.

In 2004, the group acquired Silvabronz (incorporating Kingsley Chrome), again a natural evolvement for the group in expanding the range of sub-contract services. Although the company’s founding expertise was in the precious metal plating service, primarily supporting the printed circuit board industry, with the acquisition of Silvabronz, the group now had the sub-contract service to offer quality cosmetic precious metal plating.

During 2006, Unit 19 on our Caker Stream Road Site, was refurbished and a bespoke refit carried out to accommodate both Silvabronz and Score-Tech. This refit gave the two operations some 15’000 square feet of factory space to operate from. This investment allowed for the complete revamping of the Silvabronz operation, larger capacities and new finishes to add to the already impressive range.

In early 2007 Beckworth Technical Plating Ltd revamped its IT Department allowing for additional Bare Board Testers to meet the demand for the testing service that we offer. This also allowed for the development of our track welding facility as well as the faultfinding section of this operation.

The expansion of the IT department also allowed for the installation of our photo plotting service. Again this was seen as another add-on sub contract service that is offered by the overall group.

Ever on-going expansion of the already existing services also continues. This for example is shown to be evident in the commissioning of our horizontal fully automatic OSP (Organic Coat) Line, to service the changing needs of the circuit industry due to the need to replace Tin/Lead finishing.
